Woodson Sharks Swim Team

Sharks bite Dolphins in league debut

The Woodson Sharks wasted little time in making their presence known through the South Suburban Swim League as they manhandled the Golden Valley Dolphins at Clinton on Saturday, June 13, 2009. The Sharks, new to the SSSL this year put on an impressive show, racking up 85 out of 100 relay points and 293 individual points on their way to the victory.

The Sharks took the first place ribbon in 36 of 50 individual events and swept the top three places in 13 of those. The Sharks had five swimmers, E. Gibson (8 & Under Girls); J. Atkins (9-10 Boys); A. Felton (11-12 Girls); S. Wilcoxon (13-14 Boys) and M. Hernandez (15 & Over Girls) sweep three first place ribbons. In the Boys 8 & Under division, B. Williams took home two first place ribbons and a second place ribbon and in the 15 & Over Boys, W. Hernandez took home a first and two seconds and S. Schlotzhauer swam to a first and a second. The Sharks were particularly strong in the 15 & Over Boys division with a different swimmer taking home the first place ribbon in all five of the individual events.

The Sharks travel to Paola on Saturday, June 20, 2009 to take on the Piranhas at the Paola Family Pool.

The Woodson Sharks may be new to the South Suburban Swim League this year, but it's not taking too long for the Raytown team to sink their teeth into the league. The Sharks bite proved too much for the Paola Piranhas on Saturday, June 20 at the Paola Family Pool, as the Sharks racked up an impressive 358-140 victory over the Piranhas.
