Injury drops Grimes to sixth

Zack Grimes got a rematch with Zach Anderson of Clay Center in the Kansas Class 4A State Wrestling tournament, but Anderson made it two in a row over Grimes sending him to the consolation bracket semifinal where a knee injury ended his season and forced him to sixth place in the event. It was a disappointing finish for the Trojan junior. Devon Dozier, wrestling at 135 pounds dropped out of the tournament with two losses in his first two matches.

Spring Hill takes out Trojans

The Osawatomie Trojan Girls fell behind by nine points after the first quarter, and the Spring Hill Broncos kept the hammer down on Monday, March 1, 2010 as they dealt the Trojans their final defeat of the season by a 52-22 count at Spring Hill. The Trojans trailed by 16 at the half and then by over 30 points by the end of the third quarter, as their season ended on a losing note. Spring Hill will face Fort Scott in the sub-state semifinal on Thursday at Osawatomie.

Trojans drop heartbreaker

This was not the way it was supposed to end. After roaring to a sterling 18-2 regular season record and advancing to the semifinal of the Kansas Class 4A Sub-State tournament, the Osawatomie Trojans were were on a mission to set up a repeat of last year's championship game with Ottawa, but it would be on the Trojans home floor. Ottawa kept their part of the date, but the Trojans fell to Louisburg in a 70-64, double overtime heartbreaker on Friday, March 5, 2010 in Osawatomie.

Jared Auten capped an outstanding regular season, by posting a fourth place finish in the 100 Yard Butterfly with a time of 56.24 seconds. Auten also finished seventh in the 50 Yard Freestyle with a time of 23.12 seconds. He also joined teammates Danile Dorsett, Michael Del Valle and Jon Hilliard in posting an 11th place finish in the 200 Yard Medley Relay and a 9th place finish in the 400 Yard Free Relay with a time of 3:38.47. Auten was also named second team All State. Daniel Dorsett and the Osawatomie 200 Yard Free Relay team also placed in the meet on Saturday.
