Ottawa outlasts Wildcats
The Louisburg Wildcats run through the Kansas Class 4A Sub-state tournament could be likened to the children's book "The Little Engine that Could." The 'Cats weren't supposed to get out of the first round, but they chugged through two victories and three quarters of the final game believing "I think I can, I think I can!" until time ran out on the dream, as the 'Cats fell to the Ottawa Cyclones 57-38 in the championship game on Saturday, March 6, 2010 in Osawatomie.
'Clones down Wildcats 47-38
The Louisburg Wildcat girls basketball team ended their season with a 47-38 loss at the hands of the top seeded Ottawa Cyclones on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at Osawtomie in semifinal action of the Kansas Class 4A Sub-State Basketball Tournament. The Wildcats were held in check by a smothering Cyclone zone defense which kept Louisburg just off balance enough to allow Ottawa to build and maintain a 10 point lead through most of the game.

Austin Hood is State Champ!
Going into the Kansas State 4A Wrestling Tournament the Louisburg Wildcats were looking at two, three or possibly more state champions in their five tournament entrants. The three Hood brothers were the best bets, but the Wildcats other entrants, Derek Mathia and Tyler Ewy were looking to join the ranks of state champs also. In the end, it was Austin Hood taking the 112 pound class, with Bryce Hood finishing in the runner up position at 140 pounds to be the only Wildcat grapplers to place in the event.
