Junior Intern Program

Each year, junior candidates will apply to enter The Kansas Sports Source intern program, just as one would for a job. A resume and letters of recommendation from a field related instructor (journalism, yearbook, graphic or web design or photography), an additional faculty member and a member of the community will be required. Participation in related classes in high school, while helpful, will not be required. Students will be given the opportunity to go above and beyond the classroom working hands-on in the day to day operation of a web based sports information operation.

After the interview process the staff of The Kansas Sports Source will select candidates and alternates to the program, interns will enter the program and work during the first semester in a probationary position. If, at the end of the semester, either the candidate, or the staff of The Kansas Sports Source are not comfortable with the performance of the candidate, the candidate can be replaced by an alternate. After the first semester, the candidate is guaranteed completion of the program, provided he or she continues to abide by the guidelines of the program.
